Three people from New South Wales have been jailed for their roles in a multimillion-dollar fraud against the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
Investigations allegedly identified a syndicate operating across three companies to defraud the NDIS of millions of dollars in false claims, and of making false claims for GST refunds to the ATO. Some of the claims received NDIS funding for people who did not have a disability by providing false medical reports.
The two men and a woman have been sentenced to a combined 12 yearsโ jail and ordered to repay a combined total of more than $575,700.
