The Enforcement Directorate has reportedly issued a summons to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for questioning in connection with an alleged land scam, as per sources on Saturday. CM Soren has been directed to appear at the federal agency’s office in Delhi and have his statement recorded at a mutually convenient date, both for him and the agency, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. It is noteworthy that this marks the seventh time that CM Soren has been summoned by the agency. On December 12, he was previously summoned for questioning, but on that occasion, the Chief Minister did not attend the proceedings.
