Today, the Investigating Directorate of the NPA heads to the Supreme Court of Appeal to revive the R24, 9-million Nulane fraud, corruption and money-laundering case.
The NPA will argue in the SCA that Judge Nompumelelo Gusha erred in her judgment on the matter.
In May 2023, eight accused — including Gupta associates and former Free State department of Agriculture officials — were acquitted by the Free State High Court.
The case relates to the money paid by the Free State department of Agriculture to Nulane Investment to conduct a feasibility study for the Free State Province’s flagship Mohoma Mobung project, on the basis that Nulane had unique skills to perform the work.
