This law prevents American companies from bribing foreign authorities.
The primary goal of this law was to control corruption.
However, in recent years, the law has faced a lot of criticism.
Businessmen argued that this law makes it difficult for American companies to compete with foreign companies that face fewer restrictions.
Because of this, Donald Trump has suspended the enforcement of this law.
Under this suspension, the Department of Justice has also paused any actions that were planned under the FCPA.
This could be good news for Gautam Adani because the U.S. had accused the Adani Group of $250 million in bribery allegations.
However, some people believe that suspending this law could encourage bribery.
