A High Court in Abuja has issued arrest warrants for six individuals implicated in a $1 billion cryptocurrency scam linked to the now-defunct Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX). The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) revealed that the suspects, operating through ST Technologies, promised Nigerians unrealistic 100% returns on USDT deposits before the platform collapsed in April 2025, leaving thousands of investors stranded. Justice Emeka Nwite authorised their detention, but the accused remain at large as the EFCC intensifies efforts to recover assets and plans to add them to Interpol’s watchlist.
