Corruption remains the greatest threat to Kenya’s potential for socioeconomic prosperity, US Ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter has said.
McCarter said runaway graft was to blame for problems bedevilling the nation including dependence on aid, unemployment and underdevelopment.
“Kenya has a great potential to be a leading industrial hub in Africa but cannot realize self-reliance when some greedy individuals continue to steal public funds,” he noted.
He spoke when he toured the Kitui County Textile Center (KICOTEC) in Kitui Town.
