NBA YoungBoy is making a plea to amend the terms of his house arrest, citing a crucial revelation about the arresting officers, who are now themselves the subjects of a corruption investigation.
Recently obtained court documents revealed that the rapper, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, was unaware that the same police officers who apprehended him back in September 2020 were facing their own legal issues, including multiple corruption charges.
In response to the fact that these four officers were arrested, NBA YoungBoy submitted a memorandum of law on November 1, advocating for a modification to the conditions of his release. He emphasized that this adjustment is not only a legal matter but a fundamental question of upholding his human rights.
The memorandum stated, “18 U.S.C. ยง 3142(f), allows for the detention hearing to be reopened at any time before trial if the judicial officer finds that information exists that was not known to the movant at the time of the hearing and that has a material bearing on the issue of whether there are conditions of release that will reasonably assure the appearance of the person as required and the safety of any other person and the community.”
