Tallahassee, Florida: The House Ethics Committee’s investigation into Matt Gaetz has uncovered texts from 2017 that the Florida Republican allegedly sent to a young woman who had been paid for sex by his associate.

According to ABC News, these texts show Mr. Gaetz asking the unnamed woman to go on a trip with him to the Florida Keys in May 2017, just a few months after he was elected to Congress. The news source said that the exchange was the first private conversation between the two.

Mr. Gaetz reportedly texted, “Hey, are you interested in flying to the keys on a private plane from May 19-21?” The then-freshman Congressman also stated that the trip would include “two men and four women.” A very high-quality adventure group.”

“Yeah, I’m in,” the woman responded.

The Florida lawmaker allegedly composed the following: “Excellent. Like every time you hang out with me, it will be fun and relaxing…Do you have a passport?

According to ABC News, the woman eventually did not go on this vacation.

Joel Greenberg, Mr Gaetz’s then-friend and business associate, had previously sent this woman money for sex. Greenberg pleaded guilty in May 2021 to six federal charges, including sex trafficking of a juvenile, identity theft, stalking, wire fraud, and conspiracy to corrupt a public officer.

The House panel also obtained a photograph dated May 19, 2017 of the couple. The woman allegedly posing next to Mr. Gaetz was wearing a shirt featuring a quote attributed to medical research advocate Mary Lasker, which read, “If you think research is expensive, try disease.”

According to a Gaetz spokeswoman, Mr. Gaetz had no awareness of Mr. Greenberg’s activities and was not involved in them. No, Mr. Gaetz has never paid for sex.

Even though he takes thousands of photographs annually, Mr. Gaetz is completely unaware of the woman to whom you refer.

In addition to these explosive messages, this woman allegedly disclosed to prosecutors in 2021 that she had sexual relations with Mr. Gaetz at a paid party, according to her attorney’s statement to The Daily Beast.
The outlet reported that she was compensated to attend “multiple sex parties with members of Gaetz’s circle.”
Her client, according to the counsel, testified before prosecutors that the sexual activity occurred voluntarily.

According to the attorney, she admitted to investigators “that numerous girls, including herself, were given various types of controlled substances at these parties.”

An attorney said that once investigations into the Florida Republican started, a Gaetz associate who also went to the parties asked her if she was talking to anyone about the congressman or the drug-filled parties.

According to the lawyer, the woman viewed this exchange as an attempt to intimidate her into not disclosing any Gaetz-related material.
