Margot Bentley is in a care home in Abbotsford BC. She has severe dementia. When she was competent she wrote a living will declining nourishment and liquids should she become incompetent. They are trying to get the care facility to stop feeding her – but they say that she is consenting to be fed. Her family want to remove her to a place where her wishes will be followed, but they’ve been told they cannot do so and if they try, the police will be called. The family took this video to show that she is no longer a competent adult and cannot give consent. The family has now taken the province of BC to Court in a fight for Margot’s rights to die with dignity.
