Zelensky Suspends Top Government Official Over Corruption Charges | Corrupt Past Haunts Kyiv
Ukraine’s corrupt past comes back to haunt Kyiv. The Ukrainian Cabinet dismissed Vasyl Lozynskiy over allegations of accepting a bribe. He was the deputy minister of infrastructure and communities development. Ukraine’s anti-corruption watchdog said Lozynskiy received bribes worth $400,000. It said he “facilitated the conclusion of contracts for the purchase of equipment and generators at inflated prices”. Ukraine is facing electricity shortages following Russian strikes on energy infrastructure.
