Sen. Elizabeth Warren: Impending debt ceiling showdown a ‘manufactured crisis’
The U.S. could be barreling towards a crisis after reaching its borrowing limit. What does it mean to hit the debt ceiling? Senator Warren joined Jon Keller to discuss. She called the debt ceiling a “manufactured crisis” that Republicans don’t care enough about, and that wealthy corporations need to pay more in taxes. Warren and Keller also spoke about securing federal funding for big Massachusetts projects, such as replacing the Bourne and Sagamore bridges.
Massachusetts is having a mild winter. Is that the new normal?
Massachusetts has experienced a largely uneventful winter thus far, with mild temps and minimal snow and rain. But a small storm is on its way. Meteorologist Dave Epstein spoke with Jon about the forecast and what’s on deck for the rest of the winter. Epstein said we are seeing warmer winters nationwide, including in New England, to climate change.
