The Federal Police claims to have found evidence of corruption within Codevasf, the federal state-owned company handed over by President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to the control of centrão ( Pork barrel faction in congress) in exchange for political support. A manager of the public company in Maranhão is accused of having received around R$250,000 from companies under investigation for bid fraud.

If the suspicions are confirmed, the investigated manager may answer for passive corruption and criminal association. Added together, the sentences can reach up to 15 years in prison, according to the Federal Police. The state-owned company’s server was the target of the second phase of the Odoacro operation, launched on Thursday (29) and released this Tuesday afternoon (4) by the Federal Police, who did not disclose the name of the employee under investigation.

It was requested to the Justice the immediate removal of the public agent from his/her role. Codevasf stated that it collaborates with Justice and that a server has been removed. Folha has found out that the measure was applied to the employee accused in the new stage of the police operation.
