2021 Bob Williams Awards for Outstanding Policy Achievement: Most Influential Research

Congratulations to Empire Center Center for Public Policy, winner of the 2021 Bob Williams Award for Most Influential Research!

Suspecting the government was not providing New Yorkers with accurate numbers of COVID-19 nursing home deaths, Empire filled a FOIA request which revealed 6,000 more deaths than the government claimed. Thanks to the Empire Center’s team of nine, both the FBI and US Attorney’s office in Brooklyn are now investigating Governor Cuomo’s handling of nursing homes during the pandemic.
