Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani have been summoned by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over allegations of bribery and fraud. The SEC has directed them to clarify their stance within 21 days.
According to reports, the summons were sent to Adani’s Shantivan farmhouse in Ahmedabad and Sagar Adani’s residence in Bodakdev. The notice, issued through the New York Eastern District Court, states that they must respond to the attached complaint within 21 days (excluding the day of receipt) or file a motion under Rule 12 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
