Under Secretary Rogers Travels to Las Vegas, Nevada

Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, from February 27 to March 1 to attend the Australian National Rugby League’s 2026 season opener. The event will demonstrate the power of sports to strengthen regional partnerships, including with America’s allies and friends in the Pacific, as we celebrate Freedom 250. The Under Secretary will also join the Indo-Pacific Policy forum to reinforce U.S. commitment to the Indo-Pacific and create commercial opportunities for U.S. businesses.

While in Las Vegas, the Under Secretary will also engage with Dr. Andrew Liveris, President of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee, regarding plans for the Brisbane 2032 Summer Games.

The United States recognizes sports as an effective platform for promoting American Excellence abroad and remains committed to strengthening ties through sports diplomacy.
