Rodents are thriving on piles of rotting rubbish as Birmingham’s bin strike creates a public health risk, pest experts warn.

The strike, involving nearly 400 council bin workers, began Tuesday over jobs and pay.

Unite says the dispute could end if the council offers fair wages. The council claims it made a reasonable offer and denies Unite’s claim that 150 workers face £8,000 pay cuts, insisting changes are vital for financial stability.
