Trump ends police misconduct database

Without this database, officers with histories of excessive force, homicide, and misconduct will continue their careers unchecked, leaving communities of color vulnerable to repeated cycles of violence.

This is the bare minimum and was already an optional safeguard departments could choose to use if they wanted, not a requirement to check against violent officers. We believe transparency and accountability should be non-negotiable, yet this deliberate act prioritizes police protection over public safety.

As the racist-in-chief’s pendulum continues to swing towards violence, not peace, we must keep each other safe and act accordingly.
