Police have raided barber shops suspected of fronting money laundering and people smuggling. Many operate as Turkish barbers but are often run by Kurds or Albanians, authorities say.
The UK has 18,411 barber shops, with over 750 new ones opening in 2024—a 50% rise since 2018. West Mercia Police is among the forces cracking down, with bodycam footage showing officers raiding shops and seizing cash.
