The U.S.-ROK Alliance Consultations Joint Press Release
The United States of America and the Republic of Korea (ROK) held Director-General-level consultations on July 10-11, 2025, in Seoul. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kevin Kim led the U.S. delegation and ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director-General for North American Affairs Hong Jeepio led the ROK delegation. Key U.S. and ROK foreign affairs and defense officials also participated in the consultations. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen the U.S.-ROK Alliance into a future-oriented, comprehensive strategic alliance, and to modernize the Alliance in a mutually beneficial manner in the face of an evolving regional security environment.
