Today, Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor attended the first meeting in Washington D.C. of the U.S.-Uzbekistan Business Investment Council (BIC) alongside Uzbekistan’s Head of the Presidential Administration Ms. Saida Mirziyoyeva. Speaking at the meeting, Special Envoy Gor stated, “President Trump understands the importance of Central Asia, and especially Uzbekistan, in global commerce and connectivity.” The U.S.- Uzbekistan Business Investment Council will deepen and broaden our economic engagement, promote trade and investment, and encourage long-term commercial partnerships between U.S. and Uzbek companies. This effort will not only strengthen our ties with Uzbekistan but also lead to job creation in both countries and advance a shared vision of an even more prosperous and secure region.
