On behalf of the people and Government of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Solomon Islands on 48 years of independence.
That shared history, forged more than 80 years ago, remains the bedrock of a partnership we continue to build upon today. In the year ahead, we look forward to continuing our work together on priorities that matter to Solomon Islanders and Americans, including economic resilience and growth, the removal of unexploded ordnance, and our shared commitment to a free, open, and prosperous Pacific.
I wish the people of Solomon Islands every happiness on this occasion and look forward to deepening the ties that bind our two nations together.
