Secretary Rubio’s Travel to the United Nations for the 80th UN General Assembly High-Level Week

Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to the United Nations in New York City from September 22-25 to promote U.S. priorities during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly High-Level Week.  The Secretary will join President Trump at the United Nations and advance American values, including peace, sovereignty, and liberty.

Secretary Rubio will meet with key counterparts to discuss shared security interests, bringing peace to conflicts, and mutual cooperation.

Moreover, the Secretary will use High-Level Week as an opportunity to discuss the need for the UN to get back to basics, reorienting the organization to its origins as an effective tool for advancing peace, not a bloated bureaucracy that compromises national sovereignty and pushes destructive ideologies like DEI.
