Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with Republic of Korea (ROK) Foreign Minister Cho Hyun. The Secretary and Foreign Minister highlighted the enduring strength of the U.S.-ROK Alliance, which has remained the linchpin of peace, security, and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and across the Indo-Pacific for over seven decades.
Secretary Rubio and Foreign Minister Cho discussed ways to advance the U.S.-ROK Alliance centered on a forward-looking agenda that enhances deterrence in the Indo-Pacific, increases our collective burden sharing, helps to revitalize American manufacturing, and restores fairness and reciprocity in our trade relationship. They also reinforced the importance of U.S.-Japan-ROK trilateral cooperation.
