Secretary Rubio’s Meeting with Haitian Prime Minister Fils-Aimé

Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with Haitian Prime Minister Alix Fils-Aimé to reaffirm U.S. support for Haiti’s stability and security. The Secretary welcomed progress on the deployment of the Gang Suppression Force and reaffirmed the need for timely execution of its mandate. Secretary Rubio commended the Prime Minister’s leadership as security forces expand their presence and coordination. The Secretary stressed the importance of security improvements to enable the country’s path to elections. Secretary Rubio reaffirmed the Administration’s support for a multi-year re-authorization of HOPE/HELP to support stabilization efforts.
