Secretary Rubio’s Call with Paraguayan President Peña

Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke today with Paraguayan President Santiago Peña. The Secretary thanked President Peña for his support of Venezuela’s reconstruction and democratic transition, emphasizing that sustained regional unity and coordination will be important to advancing Venezuela’s path forward.
The two leaders also discussed bilateral priorities – including expanding security and economic cooperation. The call reaffirmed the strategic partnership between the United States and Paraguay.
