Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke today with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. The Secretary and Foreign Minister discussed a range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
The Secretary and Foreign Minister exchanged views on maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the broader Middle East, including efforts to achieve durable peace between Israel and Lebanon. The two leaders also discussed the war in Ukraine. The Secretary emphasized the strength of the U.S.-Italy strategic partnership and the close cooperation between our two countries on security, economic, and technological issues.
