ABC7 is reporting a search warrant was served at Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor Sheila Kuehl’s Santa Monica home early this morning by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department.

“The investigation has been shared with a federal agency who continue to monitor,” the sheriff’s department said Wednesday.

Kuehl is said to be cooperating with authorities. Fox11 reported she spoke exclusively to them which you can view here.

Kuehl became embroiled in a scandal when a warrant was served on Metro’s downtown offices related to a contract awarded to her campaign donor Patti Giggans who also serves as Kuehl’s appointee to the Civilian Oversight Commission.

A copy of the warrant showed that the search was tied to an ongoing probe into Peace Over Violence, a nonprofit run by Giggans. Both Kuehl and Giggans have clashed fiercely with Sheriff Alex Villanueva and called for his resignation.

Kuehl’s attorney, Austin Dove, is the husband of Sen. Sydney Kamlager, who called the search “third world tactics” that Vladimir Putin would be proud of.

Last summer Los Cerritos News reported on a civil grand jury probe into the actions of the Metro board which also includes Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr.

This story is still developing.
