Samoa National Day – United States Department of State

On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my warm congratulations to the people of the Independent State of Samoa as you celebrate your 64th anniversary of independence on June 1.

The United States values our partnership with Samoa and the close cooperation we are building in the Pacific. Together, we are strengthening maritime security, enhancing law enforcement coordination, and improving air connectivity through our recently concluded Open Skies agreement. These efforts reflect both our nations’ commitment to a free and open region while supporting tourism, trade, and economic growth.

As Samoa marks this important occasion, the United States remains committed to deepening our partnership and advancing our shared priorities for regional security and prosperity. I wish all Samoans a joyful Independence Day.
