The Commissioner of Police, David Manning, has announced the transfer of all personnel from the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) Major Crimes Unit to the Criminal Investigations Directorate in Boroko.

This decision comes as part of a preemptive measure during ongoing inquiries into reports of improper influence from organized criminal groups within the unit.
