Pax Silica AI Assistance Project NOFO

At the Second Pax Silica Summit in Washington, D.C. on June 25-26, Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg announced a new Pax Silica AI Assistance Project to more efficiently and rapidly move high-value AI inputs through Panama.  The Department has published a competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity for this ambitious new platform that has the potential to transform how trusted partners transship rapidly critical goods that power the AI economy of the 21st century.  Working with Congress, the Department seeks to commit up to $50 million in foreign assistance funding to strengthen global AI supply chain security by developing an AI supply chain credentialing and provenance platform that expedites the shipping of semiconductors, AI infrastructure, critical minerals, and related products in participating Pax partner countries and economies. We are putting our resources behind our vision and demonstrating that trusted partnership is backed by real investment.

The Pax Silica AI Assistance Project would begin as a pilot, implementing an AI supply chain credentialing platform with Panama’s ports and customs authorities. If the pilot with Panama is successful, a second phase of the project would expand the geographic reach of these platforms to other Pax Silica countries and economies.

Interested bidders are encouraged to apply for this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) at Opportunity Listing – Pax Silica Artificial Intelligence Assistance Project before the NOFO closes on August 20.  This deadline is firm and will not be extended.  Any questions from potential bidders regarding the NOFO should be directed to PaxFund-NOFO-DL@state.gov.
