I’m absolutely blown away by the sheer amount of medical information about eating disorders in Kim: Empty Inside, by the heinous, vile fraud Beatrice Sparks! This serious subject is handled as superficially, shallowly, implausibly, rapidly, and inauthentically as all the other issues in her books. I suspect she sped through her stories, with scant details or development, because she genuinely didn’t know how to write a book set over a longer timeframe or write an actual compelling story vs. a shallow morality play.
