Since my last video, there have been important developments and revelations in the USMLE cheating scandal – mainly related to information disclosed in a lawsuit filed by one Nepali doctor against the National Board of Medical Examiners. So once again, it’s time to provide some perspective by clearing out the old Mailbag.
I’ll answer some new – and re-answer some old – questions, like:
How did the cheaters get caught?
Why did the USMLE focus on Nepal?
Did these examinees know they were cheating?
Was there a test center security breach – or not?
How do we know all the cheaters got caught?
Should we bring back USMLE Step 2 CS?
Should the USMLE only be offered in the United States?
Could the cheaters face any legal consequence?
What happened in the lawsuit against the NBME?
Will the USMLE investigate cheating in other countries?
