Madras High Court Pauses ED Probe in TASMAC Liquor Scam | News9

Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) has secured relief from the Madras High Court, which has temporarily paused the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) investigation into the alleged liquor scam. The ED had conducted extensive raids at 20 locations, revealing potential corruption, bribery, and unaccounted transactions worth over ₹1,000 crore. TASMAC is accused of overpricing liquor, accepting bribes for procurement and employee transfers, and awarding contracts to associates. Opposing these allegations, TASMAC has filed petitions seeking to block ED’s actions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The HC has requested the ED’s response
