The electoral body-IEBC has interdicted its deputy chief executive officer Ruth Kulundu, citing her for a litany of allegations, among them gross misconduct, insubordination and participation in illegal activities, contrary to her employment terms of service. Commission CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan, in the interdiction letter, accuses Kulundu of impersonation and arranging an illegal commission plenary meeting, during which four IEBC commissioners who disputed the 2022 presidential election results picked law firms that would represent the commission in the presidential election petition filed by Azimio La Umoja state house contender Raila Odinga. And as Francis Gachuri reports, Kulundu is facing claims of violating and intimidating IEBC staff, contrary to the commission’s human resource practices.
