The Indian bureaucracy has been referred to as “The steel frame of India”. The bureaucracy doesn’t just comprise of IAs or IPS officers- there are so many more people who are a part of the bureaucratic system in India. Time and again, the bureaucracy has done a commendable job of conducting difficult exercises in India: from conducting elections in a vast country like India to administering the Covid vaccine to billions of Indians. Yet when it comes to the delivery of basic services, the Indian bureaucracy fails us. A lot of this inefficiency is the result of certain problems that plague our bureaucracy- and that is what we will talk about in this video today.
