A political controversy has erupted in Himachal Pradesh over the state government’s decision to place advertisements in National Herald. The BJP has accused the Congress-led government of misusing taxpayers’ money by advertising in a ‘defunct’ newspaper. Chief Minister Sukku defended the decision, stating, ‘National Herald is our newspaper, we will continue to give advertisements in it.’ The BJP has termed this as a ‘scam’ to benefit the Gandhi family, alleging money laundering.
