Grenada National Day – United States Department of State

On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my congratulations on the 51st anniversary of Grenada’s independence.

Grenada’s dedication to combating transnational threats—such as drug trafficking and illegal migration—remains critical to regional security. Through our cooperation under the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative, the United States and Grenada are working to disrupt criminal networks that threaten stability and economic progress. Our nations recognize the importance of countering malign influence, including the destabilizing tactics of the Chinese Communist Party, as a means of protecting democratic values and its national sovereignty. We look forward to continued collaboration across shared priorities, which will support both of our peoples.
