Indian billionaire Gautam Adani has been charged by US federal prosecutors for orchestrating a massive bribery scheme to pay off Indian government officials to secure solar power contracts.
The Adani Group chairman was charged alongside other executives of the conglomerate.
“This is Gautam Adani who is a powerhouse, politically and financially in India,” Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood said.
