President Trump delivered remarks at the National Republican Congressional Committee Dinner Tuesday night. During his speech, Trump said he will soon announce tariffs on major pharmaceutical imports. He also talked about the 104% tariffs against China, set to start at midnight on April 9. Trump had previously announced a slew of “reciprocal” tariffs on many foreign trading partners, including China and Canada.
The NRCC Dinner is a key fundraising event for House Republicans, who currently hold a slim majority and are looking to defend that majority in the lower chamber of Congress in 2026.
