Fugitive Mehul Choksi Detained In Belgium Over ₹14,000 Crore PNB Scam | News9

Fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, accused in the ₹14,000 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam, was detained in Belgium’s Antwerp on Saturday, reportedly at the request of the CBI. Choksi had been living in Belgium with his wife using an ‘F Residency Card’ and is now in jail. His detention marks a major step in India’s efforts to bring him to justice since his flight in 2018. Choksi’s legal team has said he will seek bail and challenge extradition on medical grounds.
