Justice Denied: How a Stroke Survivor Was Targeted by Religious Real Estate Sharks

South Fallsburg, NY – Dmitri Bediner, also known as Chaim Ben Dovid Bediner, is a 60-year-old Jewish refugee from Donetsk, Ukraine. He came to the U.S. in 1976 and built a modest life rooted in community service and hard labor. Today, after surviving a massive stroke, COVID-19, and a grueling 17.5-hour brain surgery, Dmitri is fighting a different kind of battle — against a shell company, a predatory mortgage, and a community he once trusted.

The Property at the Center of It All

For over 25 years, Dmitri owned and maintained an 8-unit seasonal bungalow colony in South Fallsburg, NY. After years of buyouts, only Dmitri and a co-owner named Polina Kruglik remained. In 2022, a court ordered the property sold. Dmitri sought to exercise his legal right to buy out Kruglik, but the situation quickly devolved into fraud.

The “Help” That Became a Trap

While medically and cognitively compromised in 2023, Dmitri was approached by Rabbi Joshua Glassman, who promised to help him finance the buyout. Instead, Glassman orchestrated a $560,000 mortgage at 15% interest through his own company, Preferred Real Estate Management.

Soon after, a shell company called Dacha Luxe LLC — allegedly tied to Glassman and Hasidic insider Hershy Indig — claimed full ownership of the property, falsely alleging that Dmitri had sold them his interest for $275,000. No documented payments support this claim. The only confirmed transaction was a $48,500 down payment intended for Kruglik — not for Dmitri.

Legal Misconduct and Judicial Recusal

The case, Dacha Luxe LLC v. Bediner, originally assigned to Judge Meagan Galligan, was reassigned after her recusal due to familiarity with one of the parties. It now sits before Judge E. Danielle Jose-Decker. Dmitri, who filed a pro se response, has presented evidence showing no financial consideration was ever paid, and that the plaintiff relied on deleted or altered court documents.

The Bigger Picture: Fraud Masquerading as Faith

This case is not just about a property. It’s about how deeply embedded connections, religious identity, and legal manipulation are being used to defraud a medically vulnerable man. Dmitri qualifies under “elder fraud” given his medical condition and lack of capacity during key decisions. He was misled, unsupported, and is now being dragged into court to defend his legacy from those who should have protected it.

Support the Fight

Dmitri is out of funds. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to raise $40,000–$60,000 for legal defense and medical recovery.

This is about justice — for Dmitri and for anyone who could fall victim to similar fraud. Don’t let power, influence, or religious camouflage shield criminal behavior.
