The Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, alongside the Head of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), Advocate Andy Mothibi, is briefing the media on the preliminary findings of a major investigation into multi-billion-rand medico-legal claims.
This probe, initiated after a surge in medical malpractice lawsuits against Health Departments nationwide, was authorised by President Cyril Ramaphosa under Proclamation R74 of 2022.
The investigation aims to uncover corruption, fraud, and maladministration within the public health sector.
