Deputy Secretary Landau’s Travel to Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia
Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau will travel to Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia June 6-13 for his first official trip to Southeast Asia as Deputy Secretary.
In Singapore, Deputy Secretary Landau will meet with senior Singaporean officials and reiterate U.S. commitment to regional security and mutually beneficial economic cooperation. The Deputy Secretary will then travel to Vietnam, where he will deliver remarks at the ASEAN Future Forum and engage with senior government officials and business leaders to discuss opportunities to advance economic and security cooperation under the U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Finally, Deputy Secretary Landau will travel to Indonesia to deepen bilateral economic cooperation and discuss how increased U.S. business investment can drive mutual prosperity and support both countries’ economic priorities.
The Deputy Secretary will conclude the trip by engaging on ASEAN issues, highlighting how our cooperation on security, technology, and combating online scams and other transnational crime advances shared goals. This visit underscores U.S. commitment to supporting regional prosperity and security and expanding economic and strategic partnerships across Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific more broadly.
