Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has come under fire for defending the state government’s decision to continue placing advertisements in the National Herald, a publication currently facing scrutiny over alleged corruption. Notably, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have been listed as A1 and A2 in the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the case.

Despite the controversy, Sukhu has stood firm, stating, “National Herald is our newspaper, and we will keep giving advertisements to it.” His remarks have sparked strong reactions from the BJP, with Union Minister Anurag Thakur sharply criticizing the chief minister’s stance.

Thakur questioned the use of public funds for promoting a newspaper embroiled in legal trouble, asking, “How can an elected chief minister justify this?” He further condemned what he called the “Congress model of corruption,” accusing the party of misusing state resources.
