The Transitional Presidential Council (TPC)’s approval of Haiti’s electoral decree marks an important step toward the stabilization of Haitian security and governance. The Haitian people have waited for nearly a decade to democratically elect their leadership.
We encourage political leaders, civil society, and the international community to support Haiti’s restoration of political stability.
The United States also looks forward to the December 9 conference in New York where Haiti’s partners will come together to generate force contributions for the Gang Suppression Force. This is essential to advancing Haiti’s security and stopping the violence perpetrated by criminal and terrorist gangs.
