On behalf of the United States of America, I want to congratulate the people of Albania as you celebrate your Independence Day.
The United States and Albania enjoy a strong partnership, built on a shared commitment to a safer, more prosperous future. Our alliance in NATO is the bedrock of our mutual defense, and we welcome Albania’s increased investment in our collective security. Additionally, our partnership with Albanian law enforcement makes our citizens safer as we confront the threats posed by transnational criminal groups, drug-trafficking cartels, and those who collaborate with them. We also appreciate our close cooperation in addressing cyber threats, and we commend Albania on its significant strides in cybersecurity.
As we mark this special day, we look forward to expanding our security cooperation, economic ties, and enduring friendship with Albania.
