Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has slammed the Yogi government over the suspension of IAS officer Abhishek Prakash, calling it a mere drama. He alleged that the suspension is just a cover-up for a bigger issue. Yadav claimed that corruption runs deep in Uttar Pradesh’s “Ease of Doing Business” model, where industrial development projects are stalled unless commissions are paid.
IAS Abhishek Prakash was suspended after being accused of demanding a 5% commission for approving a solar industry project. The complaint was filed by Vishwajit Dutta of Seal Solar P6 Private Limited, who alleged that his company’s application was initially approved but later put on hold due to non-payment of the bribe. Following an investigation, the officer was found guilty and suspended by CM Yogi Adityanath. BJP, however, maintains that strict action is being taken against corruption.
