I just want to share this while waiting for Cesar’s newest documentary film about the poor.
It feels sad and uncomfortable that I have to make an explanation, because I know, that there are people out there who will bash me because of this video.
Let’s start with the toys.
People who know me, know why there’s a lot of toys in the playroom.
No, I don’t buy those toys. My family and I get those toys for free.
What my family and I do: We collect/gather all the toys and give them away to the local community, to schools, to charities and I also send those toys to the Philippines.
If you will watch the older uploaded helping films/videos: You will find out that I send huge boxes of toys to the Philippines, to be given away to indigent children.
Mark, you are a scam! You stole money from your Gofundme platform to buy a house!
My Reply:
I’ve been living and working in the state of California since the early 2000s.
I had a chance to buy a house because I work my butt off. As a matter of fact, I am a workaholic person.
I bought my house in 2015. My Gofundme account started on September 27, 2018.
You don’t need to become a Mathematician just to have a commonsense.
Mark, you are a socialist, so how come you bought a house?
My Reply:
I always say that I have nothing against capitalism. It’s “crony” capitalism that I despise. It’s the corruption and exploitation that I hate the most.
Also, just because I believe in democratic socialism doesn’t mean that I am not allowed to buy a house.
The heck, I pay huge property, city, self employment, state and federal taxes. That is socialism folks!
The problem is: A big chunk of my income goes to the government, but I get nothing in return.
My family and I don’t get free healthcare & medicinal services. My children won’t be able to go to college for free.
In socialist Scandinavian countries: They have universal healthcare and everybody goes to college for free, with money allowance every month from the government.
Now, that is the kind of democratic socialism that we Americans should have!
Mark, you are a socialist and you deserve to be poor!
My Reply:
The goal of democratic socialism is to lift people from poverty and not for them to remain poor.
Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s family was rich, but he was a socialist.
Friedrich Engels’ family owned several huge factories, but he was a socialist.
Fidel Castro’s family owned huge lands in Cuba, but he was a socialist.
Your economic status in the society, whatever it is, must not become a hinder for you to believe in ideology and philosophy that you want to believe in.
