Hepatitis C & B Treatment Starts At Kharar Hosps | Chandigarh News

MOHALI: Civil surgeon Dr Adarshpal Kaur said that testing and treatment facility for Hepatitis-C and B has started in sub-divisional hospitals of Kharar and Derabassi. She asked senior health officials to sensitise people about the causes, symptoms, prevention and treatment of this disease, which is a viral infection causing liver inflammation, so that patients could avail of the free facility available in government health institutions.
Till now, the facility was being provided only at the district hospital in Mohali. Epidemiologist Dr Harmandeep Kaur gave detailed information about the various aspects of Hepatitis-C and B.
The civil surgeon also inquired about the progress of construction, renovation and painting work at new Aam Aadmi Clinics being opened on January 27 at different places in the district. Fourteen such clinics are running in the district.
Dr Adarshpal Kaur expressed th hope that health officials and staff worked in tandem to run the new clinics. She asked officials to ensure timely attendance of the staff and hold regular meetings to review various schemes. She asked employees engaged in direct public dealing to ensure that they remained present during duty hours and warned them against corruption or bribery.
Officials were asked to pay special attention to cleanliness on the hospital premises. Civil surgeon Dr Adarshpal Kaur held a monthly review meeting with district programme officers and senior medical officers on Tuesday.
