A Tyrone man faces charges after he allegedly provided food laced with marijuana to minors.

Corey Matthew Wagner, 23, was arraigned Friday before Magisterial District Judge Fred B. Miller on two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, as well as misdemeanor charges of corruption of minors and possession of marijuana.

Police said an officer responded April 1 to a Blair Avenue, Tyrone, residence for a report of two 12-year-old females who had overdosed.

When officers arrived, one of the juveniles was being treated by EMS and appeared visibly intoxicated. She was transported to Penn Highlands Tyrone Hospital.

The other juvenile was transported to the same hospital by her parents, where an officer met with her and reported she appeared heavily intoxicated.

During an April 3 interview with police, the first juvenile said that on April 1, as she and her friend were leaving the Park Avenue playground, Wagner asked the girls if they were hungry.

Wagner gave them items similar to Captain Crunch cereal and a Nutter Butter cookie, the girl told police, and after they ate the food, they didn’t feel well.

Wagner never said there were drugs in the food, she told police.

The second juvenile gave a similar account when interviewed by police on April 4, stating they were walking on Park Avenue when the first juvenile was given “candy” by a male. She did not know the food was a marijuana edible.

The girls ate the food, and when they returned to the Blair Avenue residence, the second juvenile said she felt odd and passed out.

Medical records obtained by the officer indicated both juveniles had marijuana in their blood.

According to court documents, Wagner is accused of giving edible marijuana food items to the juveniles.

Unable to post $25,000 cash bail, Wagner was remanded to the Blair County Prison. He is scheduled to appear before Miller for a preliminary hearing May 24.
